I have known Caroline Bawn from Gorgeous Yarns for a number of years and since late 2018 I have been working closely with her in an advisory role.
Through our Marketing Brainstorm Sessions I have guided concepts for social media, email campaigns and content for product launches. All of which Caroline has personally executed with a new found confidence. I have also provided the odd one off copy job, which has provided templates, as such, for things such as PR outreach.
One thing I have found consistent through working with many different business owners, is that budget plays a big part in an SMEs outsourcing potential. Some business owners have a big budget to hire hands-on freelance help and others aren’t quite there yet and this was true for Caroline. This is why I also offer one off copy jobs and advisory sessions to clients, giving them the options they need to get the help they want.
I’m thrilled to say that Caroline hasn’t just blossomed in her ability to market her business, but she has far exceeded what she had thought possible, just by seeking the bit of confidence she didn’t realise she had, in order to showcase her skills and passions. Today, as I write this, she has; paid articles to write for a very well known industry magazine, university workshops to deliver, a book to finish writing and seek publication for, and major networking contacts growing by the day!
Gorgeous Yarns isn’t just another yarn business anymore, it is an industry expert and advisor in artisan natural dyeing, and sustainable and slow fashion.
